John L. Young
Law Practice
Mr. Young is a founding member of Young Hoffman, LLC. His practice focuses on construction law, surety law, civil litigation, arbitration and mediation. He represents clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings, and in litigation and administrative claims, regarding private and public projects, in State and Federal Courts, Agency Boards of Contract Appeals and Appellate Courts. He has handled extensive construction site accident litigation regarding property damage and/or personal injury claims in Utah and Wyoming, as well as comprehensive contract negotiation and preparation involving all types of construction projects. He provides services as a mediator and arbitrator to parties involved in commercial disputes and construction project disputes.

Mr. Young has represented parties in negotiation and litigation, mediation and arbitration regarding various complex construction projects, including the Bobsled/Luge Olympic Track Project, the University of Utah Olympic Housing Project, Salt Lake City Gateway Center Project, the Delta Center Project, the American Towers Condominiums, the Consonus Data Center explosion, the United States Army Material Test Facility at Dugway Proving Grounds, the Tooele Chemical Demilitarization Facility at Tooele Army Depot, Intermountain Power Project, the American Stores Tower Office Complex, the Burbank Towers Project, F.E. Warren Air Force Base Housing Project (Wyoming), The Colony at White Pine Canyon infrastructure litigation, Fort Huachuca Special Training Facility (Arizona), Enron Gas Processing Station Project (Wyoming), Sheridan Hospital Project (Wyoming), Veterans Administration Hospital Expansion Project, Wilson Sewer District Project (Wyoming), and litigation involving various residential subdivision and commercial/industrial developments.
Education
Mr. Young obtained a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah in 1969, and a J.D. from the University of Utah in 1973. He is licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Utah and Wyoming, as well as being admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
